剧本台词翻译请教

剧中主人公屁股被坏蛋的猎枪击中,醒来后他对女搭档说了这么一句话:
I ran into Mr.Mellors down the end of a 12-bore.
那个12是不是指猎枪的口径,12号的猎枪弹.
整句不知道怎么翻译好,各位高手看一下哈.
