This "gold" package contains Wing Commander Prophecy and the "Secret Ops" expansion pack. The Secret Ops pack was previously only available as downloadable missions off of the 'Web.
Wing Commander:Prophecy

Following the Border Worlds conflict of Wing Commander IV, the galaxy is once more at peace. Colonel Christopher Blair, hero of the Confederation has transferred into the Naval Forces. Blair helps design the TCS Midway, a state-of-the-art multi-role carrier that will help keep order during the Confederation's new peacetime. The luxury of peace allows Confed to retire many older pilots and assign younger pilots to piloting roles. Lance Casey and his friend Max "Maestro" Garrett are two such pilots, fresh from the academy, transferred aboard the TCS Midway along with several others for its maiden voyage along the borders of Confed Space. But soon into the mission, the Midway intercepts a distress call from the Kilrathi, the remains of a race of cat-like warriors who lost the war with the Confederation...

Wing Commander: Prophecy is a space combat simulator. Players take the role of Lance Casey on his new assignment aboard the ship. The player can click various hotspots aboard the ship to engage in non-interactive FMV conversations with shipboard personnel. By entering the briefing room, players can receive full instructions on their next mission.

Space Combat begins by launching from the TCS Midway carrier, and are displayed as first-person perspective inside the cockpit, similar to the rest of the Wing Commander series. Mission objectives vary between escort duties, patrol missions, search and destroy or defense of the TCS Midway herself. Depending on the ship being flown for the particular mission, the player will be able to switch between guns, missiles, torpedoes and mines with which to combat the enemy. The player, as wing commander, can give orders to nearby wingmen and communicate with any other ship. After each mission, the player must return to dock with the TCS Midway and will receive a mission performance rating.
Wing Commander:Prophecy (Special Edition)

This special edition package comes in an enlarged box which includes a copy of Wing Commander: Prophecy along with a 3-D mouse pad and the original soundtrack CD.

X2: The Threat is the sequel to X:Beyond the Frontier. In this game, you work to build your character up in a space environment. The game allows you to control much of what happens in the universe as you work to build space stations and fleets of ships across the universe.

Will you choose the path of a trader, a pirate, a miner, a bounty hunter, or a combination of those? Your choices determine how you are treated by the races you encounter in your travels.

Upgrade your ships with various weapon, speed, and defense modifications as well as many other modifications you can purchase throughout the universe. Use the same upgrades to improve your starbases that you build.

Travel through huge sectors of space and trade goods at many outposts and stations to increase your funds, or prey on the helpless ships flying through the galaxy.

Lost? Ask the station you are flying past for directions. They will be happy to assist you in full voiceover.

The uneasy peace in the universe is faltering... how will you fare?

After fighting against mankind's arch-enemy, the Xenon, in X:Beyond the Frontier the space between the jump gates of an ancient civilization has developed a time of relatively stable peace. But there is not much time to recover... a new threat arises at the outer regions of the Argonian territory.

X2 continues the successful way of free-form gameplay: The player may choose how to play - fighting pirates or becoming one, trading goods between space-stations or building your own. Basically, the game is a mixture of classic space- and trading-simulation.

The Collector's Edition is a later release of the original box, besides the latest update, an editor and a modder-kit it includes:

Reunion continues the story of X2:The Threat: The war with the mysterious Khaak still rages at the borders of Argon space where the weakened defending forces try to stop the expanding invasion. But a new, even bigger menace arises in the endless darkness of space.

Like its predecessors, X3 features rich free form gameplay, allowing the player to completely ignore the main story of the game (actually there is an option to play the game without any story at all). There are several ways to earn your money or reputation - mining asteroids, trading, building player-owned stations, fighting against or as a pirate, only to name a few. With a great variety of ships and equipment, you can build (or capture) a whole customized battle and / or trading fleet.
