Galactic Command Echo Squad SE v2.10.02 补丁下载:
http://www.gamershell.com/download_23626.shtml
Size: 20.72MB
Description:
FIXED: The orders text display in the first mission shows "ECHO 01 and 02" instead of "ECHO 00 and 01", though the commander's audio instruction is correct.
FIXED: The TACOPS option in the COMMAND menu was emulating ALT+S instead of the recently revised ALT+T. The ALT+T hotkey to activate TACOPS still worked fine however

Previews: GALCOM: Echo Squad
First look at GameTap's next episodic game.
By Alice Liang 02/06/2007
Niche PC space flight simulation developer 3000AD (maker of the Battlecruiser and Universal Combat series) may be moving into the console market on Xbox 360, but that doesn't mean it has forgotten its PC roots -- enter Galactic Command for both PC and Xbox 360. Originally designed as one product, GALCOM has since been divided into a two segment series, with GALCOM Excalibur as an Xbox 360 title, and GALCOM Echo Squad for episodic release on PC, exclusively via GameTap. Unlike 3000AD's previous series, this is an aerial combat franchise that wants to take you back to the 'good old days' -- the early days of space combat action.
"There aren't any similar games out there," says Derek Smart, president and lead developer at 3000AD. "There is currently a dearth of space games due to mainstream publishers not wanting to invest in such a niche genre. While there have been a few space games of late, few have captured the feel of what made space combat games fun back in the old days."
And taking out the "niche" by cutting out some of the high-end complexities found in other space games set in the Battlecruiser/Universal Combat world is exactly how the developers plan on capturing that fun space combat feel. "The concept behind GALCOM," Smart says, "is to take all 3000AD's advanced technologies around which complex games were wrapped and develop a space combat game -- not a sim -- which anyone and everyone can jump in and play at any point."

SCREENS: Echo Squad will feature "advanced flight dynamics engine, complete with [optional] 3D fighter cockpit displays," according to a press sheet for the game.
Some features afforded by the advanced technologies include an advanced A.I. engine -- with which you can issue NPC orders for your squad -- and a large assets database containing over 50 space crafts, vehicles, and buildings. Another feature is the seamless transition when moving from planets into space to travel around the massive galaxy -- eight star systems with 50 planets and moons. There are also dynamic time and weather effects like constellations in the night sky and snow storms.
Perhaps most notably, Echo Squad is supposed to feature an intuitive graphic user interface, which, while driven by mouse and keyboard hotkeys, supports the use of game pads (like the Logitech Dual Action and Xbox 360 controller for Windows) as well. "The support for these controllers alone," Smart says, "is a radical departure from the type of hardcore space games that 3000AD has been developing."
Smart continues: "Anyone who has played any of 3000AD's games will immediately notice that most of this game, while familiar, was designed to target a whole different group of gamers." To assist casual players even further, in-game tutorials and manuals cover all the gameplay and navigation basics.
SCREENS: GameTap's VP of content Ricardo Sanchez says, "We decided to pick up the game because we saw that it would appeal to our core audience who are currently spending many hours playing the legacy space games (e.g. Tachyon) on GameTap." [Click the image above to check out all GALCOM Echo Squad screens.]
But that doesn't mean the game should lack substance. While the developers say you can jump on and play Echo Squad easily for less than 10 minutes, each episode will have a 16 mission-long campaign for several hours of play. And thanks to Echo Squad's mission system, which the developers say has A.I. that adjusts to real-time variables, the scenarios will dynamically change so no two play sessions will be the same.
GALCOM Echo Squad episodes will be released monthly, and currently, there are four episodes that make up the story -- the first of which is Echo Squad: Rise of the Insurgents (look for it in a couple months -- official date TBD). The VP of content at GameTap, Ricardo Sanchez, confirms that Echo Squad will be exclusively on GameTap and "will not be available from any other source." And while "there is potential for more" episodes to come as needed, "none are planned at the moment."
But unlike Sam & Max, which is also episodic and released on GameTap, each episode of Echo Squad will not be an individual game. Instead, the episodes will be downloaded into a single game. "Both formats have their plusses and minuses," Sanchez says, "but depending on how the game itself is built, both formats work quite well for delivering an episodic game." Once Echo Squad is released later this year, we'll be able to better judge whether this method of delivery was successful, and whether the gameplay managed to capture the fun it was hoping to.
