有兴趣可以读读这段,主要是说怎么打Galleon那段比较有用:
I pick up the spacesuit, deliver him to designated station, he tells me he has tracked the Galleon to specified sector and "go get em". I get to sector and meet the two Otas Reapers, once comms me and says "Lets find that Galleon" Okee dokee, Galleon comms me at 8 clicks asking if I have parts to sell? Heck no, I select "activate jump inhibitor device".
Oh, he's really ticked off now.
He starts spewing out fighters. Otas ship comms me "Let's do some damage and see if he drops it". Big HAIRY furball.

How many ships(wingmen) did your galleon launch cuz in my game I'm up against at ruffly 25-30 ships and alot of them are M3+'s, you would think my M7's should get the job done, Half of reloads in Sector Mercenary Revenge a damn reaver shows up out of gate
I am told that you should draw the fighters away from the Galleon... So, then you can deal with them more effectively
Another tip for fighting bigger groups of fighters is to not stick around and fight the whole mob, but to fly through them, killing one or 2, and then flying away from the pack and strafe around in a slow circle, most shots will miss you, and what happens is the faster ships will get pulled away from the slower more nasty ships, you can then pick off the light fighters and be free to do sweeping hit and run attacks on the heavy ships that are left. 2 often in a larger ship you will be dog fighting around in a big group of fighters, and because of your ships large profile you will just be soaking up huge ammounts of enemy fire whitout even really seeing it. Hit and run tactics allow you to thin the heard and give you some breathing room to recharge shields and regroup for an attack.. Only issue with this is it works better solo, as your wingman will get bogged down in the main group and get owned.
I found best as was mentioned, stay away from the galleon and blow through the fighters while strafing. You may be able to take a couple out while you do. Let the faster ships outdistance the slower ones and deal with them first. Then go after the heavier hitters.
you could deal with the fighters by camping at the gate in an M3/M6 the gate provides cover, as well as giving you the option to retreat (even if in LL)
also, when you destroy the fighters, i suggest you take an M3 and head dirrectly into the frontside of the galleon, and entering the large open space it has inside
the galleon should have some Beta Kyons in front, and AFAA at the rear, so its a no go there
once you enter the galleon, just fire away till its shilds are down and then gently doing some damage until you get the message Now thats thinking outside of the box....and I like it!!!!!
Your Otas helpers will happily knock down the Galleon's shields without it apparently trying to fire back, so all you have to do is keep out of the way, destroy the fighters QUICKLY, and be ready to respond to the "I surrender!" message as soon as you get it.
I finished the mission using my LX for the first time - my vidar was too big of a target so I switched to the LX and managed to get into the Galleon, from there on I only used PBE
Everybody needs to survive to complete the mission.
Otas Elite, Otas Reaper, scarab, Galleon and of course you.
Only both the escorts have to survive and not the Galleon, coz i've done the mission tons of times and each time i make sure i kill the galleon before i leave along with the escorts. The Galleon has a unique explosion which i always love seeing coz it gives a green flare at the end of the explosion
Here's an interesting one from Johgalt:
"Here is a somewhat uncommon approach to the scarab mission (I say uncommon because I have never seen it posted on the forums before). Since the rest of the mission is cake, I'm only concerned with the Galleon bit. Obviously, it can be tough because you have to know when to stop shooting, and then hope the Otas escorts don't finish the bloody thing off before it drops the scarab. So, heres the trick: do not acknowledge the message from the Otas escorts when you enter the system containing the Galleon. This will prevent the Otas escorts from targeting the Galleon, and prevent the Galleon from launching its fighters.
So, the thing to do now is go get the Galleons' attention, and have it follow you far away from the Otas escorts, and the gates. Once you have some good distance, turn and attack until it has almost no hull strength remaining. this is important for 2 reasons: 1) the Galleon must have low hull for it to drop the scarab, and 2) it will now move VERY slowly. Sometimes this can be challenging, sometimes not, depending on the weapons load out of the Galleon, and that depends on either you combat rank, or your ship (possibly both), I really have not been able to determine it yet. The first three times I did this mission I did it in a Vidar, and it was a piece of cake. The last 2 times, I tried it in the Hyperion, and that bloody thing used nothing but BKyons, which was a real pain.
So, now that the Galleon is FUBAR, acknowledge the Otas message, and when the Galleon starts launching fighters, jump to the furthest gate. This way, the fighters will follow you and the fighting will happen nowhere near the Galleon. A few seconds after destroying the fighters, the galleon will relinquish the Scarab, and the mission will be complete (except for escorting it back to Akeelas Beacon)." |
