Matrix Games Staff的Erik Rutins在2015年9月23日表示，他们正在开发下一个系列的游戏，但不能分享更多的详细内容。但是他们表示，这是一个非常重要（Major）的项目，并且对此投入了大量的精力。后面又说道，他们希望这个项目（Project）能够在各个方面的改进DW，让DW更牛逼，更完善（Move forward）。但因为游戏还正在开发，现在没有任何的细节可供透露。

简单分析一下：
一，新的项目确实是DW2，最少也是一个DW系列的延续。
二，DW2相对于DW1来说会有大量的改进。
三，在2015年9月的开发中，仍然无法透露出关于任何细节，说明游戏完成度很低。

We are indeed working on the next game in the series, but I can't share any details yet. I can say that it is a very major project for us all that has been getting a lot of effort and attention both from us and Elliot. We expect this to move DW forward in every respect, but even the internal test team haven't seen any details yet, so it will be a while before we can share anything publicly.
