I used to think the threads and relies in English forums are always like this:
Mike,
A quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog.

At that time I thought the English-speakers always use forums like writing letters and believed only Chinese would write 'you' as 'u'. (And another example is they alway write 'I' as 'i'.) Therefore I got thoroughly shocked after my first encountering such abbreviations in a certain English forum. Finally, I found the fact is that the forum writing posts like letters are all about serious topics (which were the only kind of English forums I was acquainted with). (>_<) |
